The Cardigans announce summer 2026 exclusive UK show
The Cardigans have announced their first UK show since 2018, returning to the Eventim Apollo in London for a UK exclusive show this June.
In the winter of 2018, Swedish pop group The Cardigans celebrated the 20th anniversary of their game-changing fourth record, “Gran Turismo”, with UK fans on a run of commemorative shows across the country. Although the band have played together every year since then, they haven’t played in the UK since. Now, the band have announced their long-awaited return with a special show at London’s Grade II listed Art Deco venue, the Eventim Apollo, this summer.
On Saturday 27th June, The Cardigans will bring their electrifying live set to the UK for the first time in over seven years, with a special early doors show with a 9pm curfew at the Hammersmith venue.

The five-piece met as teenagers in Jonkoping, a small Swedish town in which the only distinguishing feature is its fifty-two churches, with its founding members forming The Cardigans in October 1992.
An early recording of “Rise & Shine” appeared on a local independent label in 1994 and earned them a signing to Stockholm Records. The rise of The Cardigans has since been gradual, allowing them time to develop naturally as their sales and positive exposure grew with each release. It was in 1997 that The Cardigans were first catapulted towards international superstardom, after Lovefool’s inclusion on the soundtrack for blockbuster ‘Romeo & Juliet’. The single reached number one in both the UK and US airplay charts.
After performing a year-long world tour complete with endless radio sessions, press and television interviews, the band took some well-deserved time off to recuperate , experiment with solo projects and write new material. In June 1998, they joined producer Tore Johansson once more to record “Gran Turismo”, which received more than 2.5 million sales worldwide. The majestic and mature “Long Gone Before Daylight” followed, while “Super Extra Gravity” (released in 2005) was unruly and spectacular.
A greatest hits album was put together and released in 2008, including new bonus tracks. In the last decade, the band members have released solo records and side projects – Nina as herself, Nina Persson, Bengt and Lasse as The Brothers of End and Magnus as Råå. Though they have played live every year since 2012, their newly announced show at the Eventim Apollo marks The Cardigans’ first UK show in over seven years.
