TORA DAA Announces New Single “Dear Lord”

On 5th September, Norwegian guitar pop phenomenon Tora Dahle Aagård and her band TORA DAA will release their new single Dear Lord — the third and final preview before the band’s long-awaited fourth studio album will be released on 26th September. The album launch will be followed by an extensive release tour across Norway and abroad.

Over the past few years, TORA DAA (pronounced “Tora Da”) has built a devoted following across Europe, delivering electrifying performances and earning praise for their distinctive sound. Celebrated for her catchy songwriting and timeless sound, Tora’s style draws comparisons to icons such as Prince, Michael Jackson and John Mayer. Earlier this year, Tora was commissioned to compose an original work for Trondheim Jazzfest — praised by festival director Ernst Wiggo Sandbakk as “the best commissioned work in the festival’s history.” Several of these compositions have made their way onto the upcoming album, including Dear Lord.

“‘Dear Lord’ captures the core of the work I wrote for Trondheim Jazzfest,” says Tora. “It’s about religion, homosexuality, and the paradoxes between them. I’ll fight for gay rights my entire life — or at least until we can walk the streets without fear of hate or violence.”

Although not religious herself, Tora approaches the subject with curiosity and empathy:

“Believing in something bigger than yourself is deeply human. But because of how gay people have been treated by the church — and how much religion has harmed us — I can’t really believe. If I could write a letter to God, it would be the lyrics to ‘Dear Lord.’ The song is an invitation to see that believers and queer people are searching for the same thing: love.”

With three critically acclaimed albums already under her belt, expectations for the new record are high. Known for her world-class guitar skills, bold songwriting, and raw stage presence, Tora continues to deliver music that is as fearless as it is heartfelt.

And you can get your first chance to hear the new album live on Sunday 28th September 2025 at the TORA DAA Album Launch event at Hootananny Brixton, SW2 1DF). door at 7pm and you can purchase tickets HERE.
