Wet Leg share their palpitation-inducing new single “CPR”
Kicking off their UK tour last week that saw the band play two storming shows at London’s Brixton Academy as well as Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Wet Leg continue their comeback with the palpitation-inducing new single CPR. The opening track of their second album “moisturizer” (due July 11th), CPR is one of the many love songs found on their upcoming record. However, Rhian Teasdale’s refrain of “Is it love, or suicide?” confirms that this is not exactly Wet Leg Does Barry Manilow. As the band lock into a sleazy beat, Teasdale sings about her new romance with a sly, nihilistic deadpan, before letting all hell break loose on the chorus.
The video for CPR, directed by the band, is a headbanging, freewheeling, one-take glimpse into the world of the UK’s most beloved oddballs. You can stream the new track HERE, or check out the video below:
Wet Leg are Rhian Teasdale, Hester Chambers, Ellis Durand (bass), Henry Holmes (drums), and Joshua Mobaraki (guitar, synth) and although Teasdale previously felt allergic to writing love songs, “moisturizer” is defined by its sheer exuberance and Teasdale ended up finding the process empowering. “moisturizer” is the band turning the dial up and delivering a record that is unapologetically bolder, stronger and raunchier.
Alongside CPR, Wet Leg have announced a run of UK outstores including Kingston’s Pryzm plus a new tour for Europe in October. The band’s mammoth 22-stop North American moisTOURizer will start on September 1st in Seattle, numerous shows have sold out already.
