Zetra receive The Great Escape's 2025 Steve Strange Award
The Great Escape Festival is proud to announce that London-based duo Zetra are the 2025 recipients of the Steve Strange Award - an honour celebrating the next generation of groundbreaking artists and remembering the legacy of the legendary music agent Steve Strange.
Created in partnership with Steve Strange’s friends and colleagues, the award recognises emerging artists who are pushing creative boundaries and building meaningful connections with fans. The winner receives a £5,000 cash prize to use as they see fit in support of their artistic development.
Zetra, known for their enigmatic presence and genre-defying sound blending gothic metal, synth-pop, and shoegaze, have captivated audiences with their immersive performances and atmospheric, riff-heavy compositions.
"Zetra considers it a great responsibility to accept this award, and does not do so lightly. Thank you." the band said.
Rory Bett, Managing Director of MAMA Group, commented: “Zetra perfectly embody the originality and bold vision that the Steve Strange Award celebrates. Each year, this award is our way of helping exceptional emerging artists take the next step in their journey and connect with wider audiences. At its heart, The Great Escape is about championing groundbreaking new music and nurturing the talent that will shape the future of our industry.”
We caught Zetra live earlier this year on their headline tour at the Bodega in Nottingham, and what an incredible performance they gave. Check out our gallery HERE.
