Zilqy share brand new single "Caveat"
Japanese post-melodic nu-metal band Zilqy have released Caveat, the second advance single from their debut full-length album “Birth of Riot”, due out the 7th October. An official lyric video for the track is also out now.
Originally conceived by drummer Kano, Caveat is Zilqy’s fastest track to date. Relentless two-beat drumming and crushing guitar riffs drive the song forward at full speed before giving way to a punishing breakdown. In contrast, the chorus opens up with striking synths and an expansive, instantly memorable melody, bringing together aggression and accessibility in a way that embodies Zilqy’s approach to post-melodic nu-metal.
The band recently performed Caveat at Summer Sonic 2026, Japan’s largest music festival, where Zilqy made their festival debut on Tokyo’s Pacific Stage. Now, carrying the energy of that live performance forward, the track receives its worldwide release.
Lyrically, Caveat depicts a rapidly accelerating society and people struggling to survive within a system they can no longer escape. With no clear way out, the only choice is to keep pushing forward. The song channels the suffocating pressure of modern society and the desperation to survive into a dystopian vision.
The accompanying lyric video expands on that vision through a satirical story inspired by the song’s themes. Using symbolic imagery to portray its dystopian world, the video gives visual form to the sense of warning and unease running throughout Caveat.
The single’s artwork was created by 3DCG artist Kyasya, who also designed the artwork for “Birth of Riot”.

Zilqy’s 10-track debut album “Birth of Riot” arrives on the 7th October. Just days after the album’s release, Zilqy will embark on their nationwide Birth of Riot Tour 2026, beginning October 11 at Kashiwa PALOOZA. The tour will travel across Japan before culminating at Zepp Shinjuku in Tokyo on December 16. General ticket sales are now open, with international ticketing also available for fans outside Japan.
Following their Summer Sonic debut, the release of Caveat marks the next step toward “Birth of Riot” and Zilqy’s first nationwide album tour. With both their recorded music and live performances taking shape on a larger scale, Zilqy continue to define what post-melodic nu-metal means on their own terms.

Zilqy are Anna on vocals, Toki on guitar (formerly of Aldious), Miho on bass (formerly of LOVEBITES) and Kano on drums. Describing themselves as a “Global All-Female Metal Band from Japan,” the four-piece are setting their sights on the international metal scene, with a particular focus on Europe and North America.
At the heart of the band’s music are stories of people confronting fear, conflict, loss and loneliness, while finding the strength to think independently and choose their own path.
