Iconic Joy Division album "Closer" gets a limited edition 40th anniversary re-release

Joy Division have announced the re-release of their second and final album with Ian Curtis, “Closer”. This new 40th anniversary edition will be released on 17 July 2020 and will be pressed on heavyweight clear vinyl. 2020 also marks the 40th anniversary of the untimely passing of Ian who took his own life tragically on 18 May 1980.

This follows the 2019 re-release of their instantly recognisable debut album “Unknown Pleasures” with it’s iconic album artwork by Peter Saville.

The two Joy Division albums were pioneering and helped shape the sound and mood of the alternative music that followed in the band's wake and still influences bands today.
