Stuart Landon new single released 8 May 2020 for FREE

Acclaimed Nottingham based country musician Stuart Landon is releasing his latest single ‘Is This Home’ on Friday 8 May 2020. A current finalist in three International Singer Songwriter Association (ISSA) categories (Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Single of the Year), 2020 looks like being another great year, despite the current lockdown situation.

Stuart’s latest single is being release on Friday exclusively on Spotify, and for free for all. It’s a thank you to his fans for all their support during the Covid-19 crisis, or ‘Landon Lockdown’ as it’s become known. Stuart has been holding regular twice weekly Facebook shows to entertain his fans and to keep everyone smiling. As well as his own material, and well-known country songs and other popular hits, Stuart has taken on the challenge of requests from fans, learning them and played them at subsequent shows. It won’t be released on any other platforms and it’s a little something back to say thank you and to hopefully bring some happiness and a bit of fun to these difficult times.

The new single is entitled ‘Is This Home’ and with lyrics such as “I can’t take this no more, locked the wrong side of the door” and “Feel the walls closing in, need to breathe clean air again, but I’m trapped inside, trying to stay alive” I certainly thought that this was the usual melancholic country story of boy done bad, imprisoned yearning for his love or freedom…. But as you listen, you realise it isn’t! And far from being melancholic, its a wonderful upbeat, fast tempo track you can sing along to, written specifically about the current virus lockdown! The singing and guitar playing are as you would expect from Stuart outstanding, and it has a wonderful piano performance underpinning it all. Its fun, its lively and its thoughtful, but most importantly it brought a smile to my face. The lyrics in the chorus, “but I’m not alone, oh is this home” maybe reflecting on the fact that we’re all in this together and that we’re still getting together virtually, and smiling and laughing together through things such as the online performances and message interaction. A regular closeness with artists we didn’t often have pre-lockdown.

This song has a bit more of a traditional country track feel to it than some of Stuarts other recent releases,  and the quality of writing, technique and production are up there with Stuarts other recent, and very successful releases, such as ‘I Sinned’ and ‘Beautiful Mess’.

A really enjoyable track that makes you smile, and one I’ll be putting on regularly to keep things in perspective. A solid 4/5 LiveWire Music. It’s great to see artists reaching out like this to their fans in difficult times – Thank you.
