Nottingham dance/pop trio Amulet release their latest single on 17 May 2020

Amulet have announced their latest single ‘Down’ will be released on all major platforms (Spotify/iTunes/Amazon Music) on 17 May 2020.

A three piece from Nottingham (not to be confused with the Norwegian hardcore metal band of the same name). The two bands could not be more different ! Friends since they were five, Joe Soltysik (Vocals), Jordan Bramley (guitar) and Mike Smith (bass and beat master) make dance pop music with a real sense of humour, with an aim to make pop great again. Regulars in their hometown of Nottingham headlining at the Bodega, Albert’s and Cameleon Café to name a few,  and having featured on the BBC Introducing Music, they have also played on the London scene at venues such as The Camden Assembly, Notting Hill Arts Club, The Borderline and The Workshop.

‘Down’ is the latest in a line of solid single releases following 2018’s ‘I’d Rather Die Without Your Love’ and ‘a brilliant slowed down and smooth cover of Toploaders ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’. Then in 2019 they released ‘Let’s Dance’ a wonderful upbeat track that really showed off their musical sense of humour (and their dubious dance skills!) and the incredible latest release’ America’.

Now, despite the lockdown they are set to release ‘Down’. Their musical style is very much electronic pop, with driving guitar riffs and punchy hip hop beats holding it all together. Joe’s vocal style fits perfectly over the top. ‘Down’ is another really solid release from the band which tells the story of a boy who meets a girl who says she’s his…. But he’s waiting. “You know life’s not easy…. When the sun goes down” He decides to leave her although this time it felt right. Although the story comes over as sad, the song is wonderful and bright with a swirling synth introduction and dance-able beats with a fantastic funky guitar line throughout.

It really is a great track and continues their track record of really dance-able releases, and well worth a 4 out of 5 rating from LiveWire Music.

Check them out on your favourite streaming platform and check out their previous releases too.
