Beans on Toast announces new album "The Great Unravelling"

The new album from longstanding folk troubadour Beans on Toast is set for release on 1st December.

His nineteenth studio album, “The Great Unravelling” was recorded in January on the banks of the Huon River in Tasmania. The wild beauty of the landscape seeped into the songs, giving the record a dreamy, otherworldly feel and a sound unlike anything else in his ever-growing back catalogue.

The album was played entirely on electric guitar, accompanied by slide guitar and backing vocals from incredible up-and-coming songwriter Nuala. Together, they create a spacious and atmospheric backdrop for a collection of songs that ponder our place in the universe, from distant galaxies to school drop-offs and the everyday moments in between. As ever with Beans on Toast, “The Great Unravelling” is honest and hopeful, finding wonder in the world around us while trying to make some sense of the strange times we're living through.

We’re Still Here is the first single to be released from the album and demonstrates the albums honest and sublime beauty perfectly. It’s a soul-searching song about “finding happiness on the dark days. The video was filmed at the studio where I made the album, on the banks of the Huon River in Tasmania. An incredibly beautiful place. I felt very lucky,” admits Beans.

You can stream We’re Still Here on your preferred platform HERE and watch the official video on YouTube below:

To celebrate the album’s release, Beans on Toast will be taking the new songs, and some old favourites, out on the road in February 2027 playing intimate seated venues around the UK. No slouch when it comes to touring, Beans is also touring extensively throughout November and December. See below for the full listings and make way for ‘The Great Unravelling’.
